Unity Intercom 2.0 is Here!
Unity Intercom is happy to announce that version 2.0 for the Server and Mobile iOS app is now available and customers can update right now for free. Android, and Mac/Windows Desktop Clients will be available to upgrade soon.
Note: Unity will work perfectly fine with older versions of the app running on a Unity network using the new server 2.0. Upgrading the app version to 2.0 is NOT a requirement but is necessary in order to have access to the new settings and features.
Some of the advanced features of Unity 2.0 do require a license purchase to enable them. They are available from the upgrades tab in the Unity Server 2.0 application. The majority of improvements and enhancements are free and users updating will be able to utilize these right away.
Some of the popular feature improvements include program feed ducking, this means that you can now automatically lower the program audio volume when there's com chatter or when receiving a private message. Also users can now enable private message tone, this is a double-beep at the beginning to alert the user that they are receiving a private message. Visually users also now have private message ID, if a private message is received, the 'Users' button will be highlighted with a blue background, and the user list will contain a blue dot indicator on the last user to send a private message.
Another exciting new feature is the support for user selectable program feeds. This is a paid upgrade via the Unity Advanced Program Feed License.
The Unity 2.0 app upgrade is available in the App Store and the Server is available as an automatic update or by clicking the "Check For Updates" link from the Server drop down menu.
Attention: Current Unity customers wishing to try out the new features simply need to email our team at info@unityintercom.com for a 2 week trial code.
