If you've purchased Unity Intercom Server from the Apple Mac App Store and are wondering if there's ever going to be an update, the answer is NO! Well, actually there is going to be an update, and in fact, there have been a couple recently. The problem though is that for several reasons, we've pulled Unity Intercom Server from the Mac App Store and are now distributing it ourselves. This is a benefit to everyone (except maybe Apple!) but to get you new updates, you'll need to contact us with some kind of proof of purchase. Once you do that, we'll issue you a new serial number to plug into the new version of Unity Server then you'll be back on track with all current updates and features.
Sorry for any inconvenience, but this will allow for a bigger, better, faster, stronger Unity Intercom. There are more details in a sticky on our tech forum here.
Do you use a Newtek TriCaster? If so, you're in luck! We've pushed an update to Unity Server that now supports tally from a TriCaster. Just like with the Blackmagic Atem mixers, you just select Newtek TriCaster for your tally mode from the tally pulldown and enter the IP address of your mixer (once you've purchased the Tally upgrade, that is). We've also upped the number of tally inputs from 16 to 64.
If you're running a Ross, Grass Valley, or Sony mixer that supports tally over TLS TallyMan protocols, you're next on the list!
"Hold on just a minute... This just in: Jesus uses Unity!"
Alright folks, a new Unity update just hit the iTunes store for iOS. We had some feedback at NAB that our sidetone volume wasn't loud enough so we've changed that as well as made it so that you can't have sidetone without a headset plugged in, duh...
We've also made the touch targets for the three buttons at the top of the screen larger so that they're easier to hit. When we were doing demos of Unity from the NAB booth, we found that it was hard to hit the buttons when we were upside down from the device (like when we were showing someone else the interface). This may not be an issue for most users but it bothered us so we changed it.
There are a few other bug fixes as well. Mostly stuff that didn't show up unless there was a very specific condition. You may or may not notice those changes. The app store description is listed below. As always, let us know if you find any issues and we'll jump right on them.
What's New in Version 1.2.2
• Disables sidetone when not using a headset to avoid garbled audio or feedback
• Sidetone max volume has been significantly increased
• Current software version is now displayed at the bottom of the Settings page
• The Settings, Log Out and Users buttons touch target has been increased for easier use
• The User page no longer chops off the last user on the page
• The Login screen now slides up to better accommodate keyboard entry
NAB 2015 was a huge success! Did you get a chance to come by and see us? Did you have to stand in line? This is why...
Imagine one of the worst things that could happen as you prepare for exhibiting at one of the largest trade shows in the world. If you imagined that none of your equipment for your booth showed up, you'd be right!
We're getting all of our proverbial ducks in a row and packing up stuff for our first NAB show. We've been to the show many years before so we have a pretty good idea what to expect in terms of the experience but we've not exhibited before. Everyone on our team has gone out shopping for some new, comfortable shoes and our bright blue Unity shirts are washed up and packed. All of the prep we can do has been done and now it's time to wait...
Wish us luck! Here's hoping Unity makes a big splash!
